Het BPO is onder verdeeld in 3 verschillende divisies met als uitgangspunt de ronde tijden zoals de rijder die denkt te gaan rijden. Divisie 1 is voor rondetijden onder de 2.00min., divisie 2 is voor rondetijden tussen de 2.00 en 2.05min, en de laatste divisie 3 is voor rondetijden boven de 2.05min. Wij als Lek Import Cars prepareren de Mustang voor de races, eigenaar en rijder is Peter Lettinga uit Bentveld, en de auto wordt in beginsel ingeschreven in de divisie 2
De Burando production open is en klasse waarin veel technische vrijheid is en dat voor de mustangs wel een uitkomst want dan hebben we wat mogelijkheden tot het aanpassen van de Mustang op diverse vlakken.
Tijdens de paasraces zal de mustang met “Lek Mustang Racing parts” op het achterscherm rijden en qua onderstel in de zelfde vorm als de Mustangs werden ingezet tijden de Dutch Mustang Challenge, deze laatste serie is helaas ten onder gegaan. De gedane modificaties zijn voor de paasraces beperkt tot motorische upgrades, in dit geval zijn op de Mustang Ford Racing Hotrod nokkenassen, Ford Racing inlaat, Ford Racing gasklep, Steeda cold air intake, Steeda underdrive pulley’s, Kooks long tube headers en high flow catalysators gemonteerd en de tuning doen wij in eigen huis, het vermogen ligt nu rond de 355-360PK.
Na de paasraces staan nieuwe modificaties op stapel, en zullen we de ophanging gaan verbeteren, we doen dit juist gefaseerd zodat we goed kunnen zien welke effecten de modificaties hebben op de ronde tijden.
Na de paasraces zullen we wat meer foto’s en video’s laten zien en u natuurlijk informeren over de behaalde resultaten.

Mustang in action during the easter races at Zandvoort
During the Kruidvat/Gilette easter races at the 2013 easter weekend you can see a Lek Import Cars prepared Mustang in action. The Mustang will compete in the Burando Production Open, short BPO, which is a series in the dutch Powerpack and will be broadcasted on RTL7. The BPO has 3 divisions, all based on laptimes as the diver thinks he can meet up with. Division one is for cars runner under 2.00min, division two is for cars rynning 2.00-2.05min, and division 3 ris 2.05Min and up. We as Lek Import Cars are preparing this race Mustang for the owner and driver Peter Lettinga and this car will start in the division 2
The Burando Production Open is a raceclass with lots of technical freedom, so we are free to do any modification, which is a good idea for the Mustangs so we can do some changes during the season in different area’s. During the Easter races the Mustang will attend the race with the “Lek Mustang Racing Parts” decals on the quarter panels and will be on the stock platform/suspension, just like they were build for the Dutch Mustang Challenge which sadly enough doesn’t exist anymore.
The current modifications are just engine upgrades, we installed Kooks longtube headers, highflow cats, Ford Racing Hotrod cams, Ford Racing intake, Ford Racing Throttlebody, Steeda CAI and Steeda underdrive pulley’s , combined with our in house tuning this should bring the rearwheel horsepower output to approx. 355-360 hp
After the easter weekend we have some more modifications planned, basicly suspension mods, we will do this step by step so we truly see the difference in laptimes, but we are sure there is a lot of progress to be made.
After the race weekend we will post some video’s and pictures and let you know how the mustang did and at what ranking.
